Super-transform coding includes identifying sub-blocks for prediction coding a block, determining whether to encode the block using a super-transform, and super-prediction coding the block. Super-prediction coding includes generating a super-prediction block for the block by generating a prediction block for each unpartitioned sub-block of the block, generating a super-prediction block for each partitioned sub-block of the block by super-prediction coding the sub-block, and including the prediction blocks and super-prediction blocks for the sub-blocks in a super-prediction block for the block. Including the prediction blocks and super-prediction blocks in a super-prediction block includes filtering at least a portion of each prediction block and each super-prediction block based on a spatially adjacent prediction block. The super-prediction block for the block is transformed using a corresponding super-transform.

L’invention concerne un codage par super transformation, qui consiste à identifier des sous-blocs pour effectuer un codage par prédiction d’un bloc, à déterminer s’il faut ou non coder le bloc à l’aide d’une super transformation et à effectuer un codage par super prédiction du bloc. Le codage par super prédiction consiste à générer un bloc de super prédiction pour le bloc par génération d’un bloc de prédiction pour chaque sous-bloc non partitionné du bloc, à générer un bloc de super prédiction pour chaque sous-bloc partitionné du bloc par codage par super prédiction du sous-bloc, et à inclure les blocs de prédiction et les blocs de super prédiction pour les sous-blocs dans un bloc de super prédiction pour le bloc. L’inclusion des blocs de prédiction et des blocs de super prédiction dans un bloc de super prédiction consiste à filtrer au moins une partie de chaque bloc de prédiction et de chaque bloc de super prédiction sur la base d’un bloc de prédiction spatialement adjacent.
