Title: BROADCAST RECEIVING DEVICE, OUTPUT VIDEO INFORMATION GENERATING METHOD, BROADCAST RECEIVING METHOD AND VIDEO RECORDING METHOD
Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide a digital broadcast receiver with which it is possible to implement functions offering higher added value. This broadcast receiving device, which is capable of receiving video data of a digital broadcast program, and program-linked data and screen layout control information related to the digital broadcast program, is provided with: a receiving unit which receives the video data of the digital broadcast program, the program-linked data and the screen layout control information; a video generating unit capable of splitting a video display region of a video to be output into a plurality of regions on the basis of the screen layout control information, disposing, in each of the plurality of regions, program video information generated on the basis of the received video data of the digital broadcast program, and either character information, graphic information, image information or video information generated on the basis of the received program-linked data, and generating, as output video information, video information in which the plurality of regions are combined; a display unit which displays the output video information; and a control unit; wherein, if there is no valid screen layout control information, then until valid screen layout control information is acquired, the control unit controls the video generating unit in such a way as to generate, as the output video information, the program video information, without splitting the video display region, and after valid screen layout control information has been acquired, the control unit controls the video generating unit in such a way as to split the video display region into a plurality of regions on the basis of the valid screen layout control information, dispose, in each of the plurality of regions, the program video information generated on the basis of the received video data of the digital broadcast program, and either the character information, graphic information or video information generated on the basis of the received program-linked data, and generate, as the output video information, the video information in which the plurality of regions are combined.
