Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery with which a rise in direct-current resistance of the battery after a charge-discharge cycle can be prevented. The present invention is a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery where a positive terminal active material comprises secondary particles that are formed when primary particles of a lithium-containing transition metal oxide aggregate and secondary particles that are formed when primary particles of a rare earth compound aggregate. The secondary particles of a rare earth compound are deposited in crevices formed between adjacent primary particles of a lithium-containing transition metal oxide, at the surface of the secondary particles of the lithium-containing transition metal oxide, and are deposited on each primary particle which forms the crevices. Magnesium is a solid solution in the lithium-containing transition metal oxide.
