Title: LEFT-HANDED CIRCULAR POLARISATION CONVERSION METAMATERIAL THIN FILM
Abstract:
Disclosed is a left-handed circular polarisation conversion metamaterial thin film, which is an optical frequency band metamaterial structure and comprises metal micro-structure layers 1, 3 and a medium substrate layer 2, the metal micro-structure layers 1, 3 being located on two faces of the medium substrate layer 2. An upper surface of the metal micro-structure layer 1 is a metal face 1 and a lower surface is a metal face 2. An upper surface of the metal micro-structure layer 3 is a metal face 3 and a lower surface is a metal face 4. The metal face 1 is an incident face and the metal face 4 is an exit face. The metal micro-structure layers 1, 3 are right-handed windmill structures having chiral symmetry or spiral right-handed artificial structures having chiral symmetry, a left-handed angle which uses the centres of the structures as the centre of rotation is provided between the metal micro-structure layer 1 and the metal micro-structure layer 3, the amplitudes of two quadrature components of output light waves are equal and the phase difference of the two quadrature components is an odd multiple of 90o. The present invention has a simple structure and a high conversion efficiency, converts a beam of polarised light to left-handed circularly polarised light and has a high output light beam quality.
