Abstract
(EN) A process for the extraction of lithium from a brine, wherein a solution of the brine is contacted with a titanate adsorbent such that lithium ions are adsorbed thereon whilst rejecting substantially all other cations. The adsorbent is provided in the form of either a hydrated titanium dioxide or a sodium titanate. The process in turn produces a substantially pure lithium chloride solution.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un procédé permettant l'extraction de lithium d'une saumure, où une solution de la saumure est mise en contact avec un adsorbant à base de titanate de telle sorte que les ions lithium sont adsorbés sur celui-ci tout en rejetant sensiblement tous les autres cations. L'adsorbant se présente sous la forme d'un dioxyde de titane hydraté ou d'un titanate de sodium. Le procédé permet de produire une solution de chlorure de lithium sensiblement pure.
