Abstract:
An apparatus including a probe attachment point configured to attach a sensing probe having a contact end for contacting a target, a support structure configured for attachment to a final joint of a robotic manipulator, a compliant apparatus, connected to the probe attachment point and the support structure, that is configured to allow movement of the probe, relative to the robotic manipulator, due to an applied force at the contact end, and to resist the movement.
