Abstract:
(EN) Improved methods are provided for treating cancer patients, particularly patients suffering from lung cancer. Methods are provided for identifying whether a lung tumor will be responsive to treatment with a therapeutic regimen that includes pemetrexed and optionally includes cisplatin. A specific FR-α fragment peptide and a specific GART fragment peptide are precisely detected and quantitated by SRM-mass spectrometry directly in lung tumor cells collected from lung tumor tissue that was obtained from a cancer patient and compared to reference levels in order to determine if the lung cancer patient will positively respond to treatment with the c therapeutic regimen.
(FR) La présente invention concerne des méthodes améliorées pour le traitement de patients atteints de cancer, en particulier de patients souffrant d'un cancer du poumon. L'invention concerne notamment des méthodes permettant d'identifier si une tumeur pulmonaire sera sensible à un traitement avec un régime thérapeutique qui comprend du pemetrexed et éventuellement du cisplatine. Un peptide de fragment FR-α spécifique et un peptide de fragment GART spécifique sont détectés et quantifiés avec précision par spectrométrie de masse SRM directement dans des cellules de tumeur du poumon recueillies dans un tissu de tumeur du poumon qui a été obtenu auprès d'un patient atteint d'un cancer, puis sont comparés à des niveaux de référence pour déterminer si le patient atteint d'un cancer du poumon va réagir positivement au traitement au moyen du régime thérapeutique.
