Abstract:
The braking system includes a first and a second braking actuator means (10) associated with the wheels of a respective axle (A1, A2) or a respective bogie (B1, B2) of a railway vehicle (RV) and to which there are connected a first electro-pneumatic control assembly and a second electro- pneumatic control assembly (1, 2) respectively, each comprising a charging solenoid valve (11) and a discharging solenoid valve (12) adapted to cause an increase and a reduction, respectively, of a pneumatic pressure supplied to the corresponding braking actuators (10), and a control unit (13) arranged to control the electro-pneumatic control assemblies (1, 2) as a function of a target braking pressure (Pt), so that the assemblies (1, 2) cause the application of respective pressures (P1, P2) to the corresponding braking actuators (10). The control unit (13) is arranged to control the electro-pneumatic control assemblies (1, 2) so that respective braking pressures values (P1, P2) are applied to the braking actuators (10), the sum of these pressures (P) being substantially equal to the value of the target pressure (Pt), and so that the electro-pneumatic assemblies (1, 2) are controlled in an alternate manner, at least for a predetermined time interval, so as to cause, in subsequent instants of time separated by a predetermined interval (T), alternately a variation of the pressure value (P1) applied to the first braking actuator means and the value (P2) of the pressure applied to the second braking actuator means (10).
