Title: METHOD FOR FORMING AN ULTRAFINE-GRAINED FLAT METAL OBJECT
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for forming a part in which a metal material undergoes severe plastic deformation. For this purpose, a bar (3) of said material is inserted into a die (1) in an insertion direction (F), the die (1) including an intake area (11) with a cross-section that matches the cross-section of the bar (3) and an output area (13), the output area (13) being arranged in a lateral output direction. The die (1) comprises an extrusion area (14) which has the same direction as the intake area (11) and a smaller size than the intake area (11), and a transition surface (120) downstream from the output area (13). The bar (3) is extruded through the extrusion area (14), the transition surface (120) creating a pressure to push a portion of the material through the outlet area (13) and to extract the transformed material in sheet form (4).
