In examples a printing system comprises a controller and a printing device. The controller is to divide a print job into a sequence of areas, wherein an image property varies between adjacent areas. The controller is to determine a pausing point to be within a runout area at which a remaining amount of a consumable will be at or below a predetermined first amount when executing the print job when the runout area fulfills a condition. The controller is to determine the pausing point to be within a preceding area that fulfills the condition when the runout area does not fulfill the condition. The controller is to control the printing device to pause printing of the print job at the pausing point.

Des exemples de l’invention concernent un système d’impression qui comprend un contrôleur et un dispositif d’impression. Le contrôleur sert à diviser une tâche d’impression en une séquence de zones, une propriété d’image variant entre des zones adjacentes. Le contrôleur sert à déterminer qu’un point de pause se trouve à l’intérieur d’une zone d’épuisement dans laquelle une quantité résiduelle d’un consommable sera inférieure ou égale à une première quantité préétablie lors de l’exécution de la tâche d’impression lorsque l’aire d’épuisement satisfait à une condition. Le contrôleur sert à déterminer que le point de pause se trouve dans une zone précédente qui satisfait à la condition lorsque la zone d’épuisement ne satisfait pas à la condition. Le contrôleur sert à commander la pause d’impression du dispositif d’impression pour la tâche d’impression au niveau du point de pause.
