Abstract

A method of determining a position of a target using a metric comprises receiving a plurality of ultrasound signals representative of ultrasound energy received from the target and, for each of a plurality of different foci, adjusting the ultrasound signals in dependence on the focus and determining a value of the metric using the adjusted ultrasound signals. The method further comprises using the determined values for the metric for the different foci to determine a position of the target.

Un procédé de détermination d'une position d'une cible à l'aide d'une métrique comprend la réception d'une pluralité de signaux ultrasonores représentatifs de l'énergie ultrasonore reçue de la cible et, pour chacun d'une pluralité de foyers différents, l'ajustement des signaux ultrasonores en fonction de la mise au point, et la détermination d'une valeur de la métrique en utilisant les signaux ultrasonores. Le procédé comprend, en outre, l'utilisation des valeurs déterminées pour la métrique pour les différents foyers afin de déterminer une position de la cible.
