Abstract
(EN) A pair of wedge-shaped pieces (24, 24) is provided so as to fill a ring-shaped space (34), which exists between the inner circumferential surface of a holding recess (21) and the outer circumferential surface of a bearing holder (22), at two locations of said ring-shaped space (34) that are symmetric with respect to an imaginary plane (α), which comprises the section where a worm wheel (13) meshes worm teeth (17) and the central axis of the worm (14). Elastic forces are applied on the two wedge-shaped pieces (24, 24) in the circumferential direction away from the meshing section. In a worm speed reducer provided with a biasing means for elastically biasing the worm teeth toward the worm wheel, it is thereby possible to prevent displacement of the distal end of the worm in a direction perpendicular to the biasing direction.
