The disclosed technology includes, among other innovations, a framework for resource efficient compilation of higher-level programs into lower-level reversible circuits. In particular embodiments, the disclosed technology reduces the memory footprint of a reversible network implemented in a quantum computer and generated from a higher-level program. Such a reduced-memory footprint is desirable in that it addresses the limited availability of qubits available in many target quantum computer architectures.

La technologie selon l'invention comprend, entre autres innovations, un cadre de compilation efficace par rapport aux ressources de programmes de niveau supérieur en circuits réversibles de niveau inférieur. Dans des modes de réalisation particuliers, la technologie selon l'invention réduit l'empreinte de la mémoire d'un réseau réversible mis en œuvre dans un ordinateur quantique et généré à partir d'un programme de niveau supérieur. Une telle empreinte à mémoire réduite est préférable car elle résout la disponibilité limitée de bits quantiques disponibles dans de nombreuses architectures d'ordinateur quantique cible.
