Abstract:
(EN) A tunable optical element and a method for using a doped semiconductor waveguide arranged in a loop are provided. The tunable optical element comprises a semiconductor material arranged to form a microring resonator (MRR) and an in-resonator photoconductive heater (IRPH). The in-resonator photoconductive heater comprises at least a portion of the semiconductor material doped at a first doping level such that the IRPH both heats the MRR in response to an electrical input applied to the IRPH and is electrically responsive to light within the MRR, producing a photocurrent responsive to the light in the MRR.
(FR) L'invention concerne un élément optique accordable et un procédé pour utiliser un guide d'ondes à semi-conducteur dopé agencé en une boucle. L'élément optique accordable comprend un matériau semi-conducteur agencé de manière à former un résonateur en micro-anneau (MRR) et un élément de chauffage photoconducteur dans le résonateur (IRPH). L'élément de chauffage photoconducteur dans le résonateur comprend au moins une partie du matériau semi-conducteur dopé à un premier niveau de dopage tel que l'IRPH chauffe à la fois le MRR en réponse à une entrée électrique appliquée à l'IRPH et est électriquement sensible à une lumière à l'intérieur du MRR, ce qui produit un photo-courant en réponse à la lumière dans le MRR.
