Abstract

Thermally stable microstructured layers comprising polyurethane, polyurea and/or polyurethane/urea semi-IPN materials are provided which have microstructured surfaces which are highly durable, erosion resistant, and thermally stable. The microstructured layer comprises a semi-IPN of a polymer network selected from the group consisting of urethane acrylate polymer networks, urethane/urea acrylate polymer networks and urea acrylate polymer networks and a linear or branched polymer that is a thermoplastic polymer selected from the group consisting of thermoplastic polyurethanes, thermoplastic polyurethane/polyureas, thermoplastic polyureas, and combinations thereof. The microstructures are thermally stable at temperatures above the crossover point of the thermoplastic polymer, despite comprising a majority of such thermoplastic material. In another aspect, the present disclosure provides methods of making microstructured layers according to the present disclosure.

L'invention concerne des couches microstructurées, stables thermiquement, comprenant des matériaux de semi-IPN du type polyuréthane, polyurée, et/ou polyuréthane/urée qui possèdent des surfaces microstructurées longue durée, résistantes à l'érosion et stables thermiquement. La couche microstructurée comprend un semi-IPN d'un réseau polymère choisi dans le groupe constitué par des réseaux polymères d'uréthane-acrylate, des réseaux polymères d'uréthane/urée-acrylate et des réseaux polymères d'urée-acrylate et un polymère linéaire ou ramifié qui est un polymère thermoplastique choisi dans le groupe constitué par des polyuréthanes thermoplastiques, polyuréthanes/polyurées thermoplastiques, polyurées thermoplastiques, et des combinaisons de ceux-ci. Les microstructures sont stables thermiquement à des températures se situant au-dessus du point d'entrelacement du polymère thermoplastique, bien qu'elles comprennent une majorité d'un tel matériau thermoplastique. Dans un autre aspect, la présente invention concerne des procédés de fabrication de couches microstructurées selon la présente invention.
