A magnetic sensor according to the present invention includes: a first magnetoresistive element that detects a magnetic field formed along a first detection axis; a second magnetoresistive element that detects a magnetic field formed along a second detection axis obtained by rotating the first detection axis by 45°; a first Hall element that detects a magnetic field formed along a third detection axis; and a second Hall element that detects a magnetic field formed along a fourth detection axis that is perpendicular to the third detection axis. The magnetic sensor has both the properties of a Hall element and the properties of a magnetoresistive element, has high precision, and is compact.
