Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Betrieb einer aufladbaren Batteriezelle, wobei -eine erste Messung (101) einerersten Spannung der Batteriezelle durchgeführt wird, -ein erster Vergleich (102) der ersten Spannung mit einer ersten Grenzspannung durchgeführt wird, -ein Ladevorgang (104) der Batteriezelle durchgeführt wird, wenn die erste Spannung kleiner als die erste Grenzspannung ist, -eine zweite Messung (106) einer zweiten Spannung der Batteriezelle durchgeführt wird, -ein zweiter Vergleich (107) der zweiten Spannung mit einer zweiten Grenzspannung durchgeführt wird, -ein Entladevorgang (109) der Batteriezelle durchgeführt wird, wenn die zweite Spannunggrößer als die zweite Grenzspannung ist, wobei die erste Grenzspannung größer als die zweite Grenzspannung ist. Die Erfindung betrifft auch ein Batteriesteuergerät, welches zur Durchführung des erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens ausgestaltet ist.
