Systems and methods of beam training for hybrid beamforming are disclosed. In some embodiments, a method of operation of a receiver includes identifying multiple sets of beam indices for use with transmissions from a transmitter using hybrid precoding. The method also includes communicating the sets of beam indices to the transmitter for use with transmissions using hybrid precoding and receiving a transmission from the transmitter using one of the sets of beam indices. In some embodiments, each set of beam indices is for a different transmission mode. In this way, a transmission mode may be changed without the need to perform re-training of beams which is typically a time consuming process.

L’invention concerne des systèmes et des procédés d’apprentissage de faisceau pour la formation de faisceau hybride. Dans certains modes de réalisation, un procédé de fonctionnement d’un récepteur comprend l’identification de différents ensembles d’index de faisceau destinés à être utilisés avec des émissions en provenance d’un émetteur utilisant un précodage hybride. Le procédé comprend également les étapes consistant à communiquer les ensembles d’index de faisceau à l’émetteur en vue de leur utilisation pour des transmissions utilisant un précodage hybride et à recevoir une émission en provenance de l’émetteur effectuée avec l’un des ensembles d’index de faisceau. Dans certains modes de réalisation, chaque ensemble d’index de faisceau est destiné à un mode d’émission différent. Cela permet de modifier un mode d’émission sans devoir procéder à un réapprentissage des faisceaux, qui est généralement un processus chronophage.
