Abstract
(EN)
The invention relates to a method for identifying a compound inhibiting HIV reverse transcriptase (HIV RT), said method comprising the steps of: a) Transforming a yeast cell by at least one nucleic acid encoding for a HIV RT and a signal peptide, wherein the nucleic acid sequence encoding for HIV RT is under the control of a promoter and the signal peptide enables the secretion of the HIV RT in the supernatant; b) Culturing the transformed yeast cell of step a) for secretion of the HIV RT in the supernatant; c) Separating the cultured transformed yeast cells of step b) from the supernatant for collecting said supernatant containing the HIV RT; d) Assaying the activity of said HIV RT in the collected supernatant of step c) in the presence or absence of a compound; and e) Selecting a compound inhibiting HIV RT activity in step d). The invention further provides kits for carrying out the method of the invention.
