Disclosed are systems and methods to automatically detect choroidal neovasculatization (CNV) in the outer retina using OCT angiography. Further disclosed are methods of removing projection artifacts from the outer retina and for combining brightness, orientation, and position information in a context-aware saliency model to quantify CNV area in OCT angiograms.

L'invention concerne des systèmes et des procédés pour détecter automatiquement une néovascularisation choroïdienne (CNV) touchant la rétine externe à l'aide d'une angiographie par Tomographie en Cohérence Optique (OCT). L'invention concerne en outre des procédés pour retirer les artéfacts de projection de la rétine externe et pour combiner des informations de luminosité, d'orientation et de position en un modèle de saillance liée au contexte pour quantifier la zone CNV dans des angiogrammes TCO.
