A single-skinned composite lattice sandwich structure (400) includes a face sheet (402), fiber stringers (408), and at least one fiber tow arranged in a lattice structure (404) separating the face sheet (402) and fiber stringers (408), The face sheet (402) and at least the fiber tow(s) forming the lattice may be interfused with a matrix to form a contiguous composite structure. The fiber stringers (402) may be formed of various materials for imparting different structural properties to the sandwich structure, including carbon fiber for tensile strength and lightness, metallic or other rigid material for imparting overall structural rigidity, shape-changing material or actuated material for providing actuated deformation of the structure, and may also include sensors.

Une structure de treillis en sandwich monocouche composite (400) comprend une feuille de face (402), des demi-chaînes de fibres (408) et au moins une étoupe placée dans une structure de treillis (404) séparant la feuille de face (402) et les demi-chaînes de fibres (408). La feuille de face (402) et au moins la ou les étoupes formant le treillis peuvent être mélangées à une matrice pour former une structure composite contiguë. Les demi-chaînes de fibres (402) peuvent être formées de divers matériaux afin de conférer différentes propriétés structurelles à la structure en sandwich : fibre de carbone pour la résistance à la traction et la luminosité ; matériau métallique ou matériau rigide pour conférer une rigidité structurelle globale ; et matériau à changement de forme ou matériau actionné pour fournir une déformation actionnée de la structure. Les demi-chaînes de fibres (402) peuvent également comprendre des capteurs.
