The present invention relates to a computer-implemented method for receiving user input. The method comprises, at a device with a touch screen display: displaying an input range; displaying a virtually moveable indicator defining a value within the range; detecting a touch event at the touch screen display comprising user movement; and in response to the touch event: moving the indicator to modify the value within the range at a first constant speed when the speed of the user movement is above a threshold; and moving the indicator to modify the value within the range at a second lower constant speed when the speed of the user movement is below the threshold. Other variations on the method, a device and computer readable storage medium are also disclosed.

La présente invention concerne un procédé mis en œuvre par ordinateur, permettant de recevoir une entrée utilisateur. Le procédé comporte, sur un dispositif doté d'un écran tactile : l'affichage d'une plage d'entrée ; l'affichage d'un indicateur mobile virtuellement qui définit une valeur s'inscrivant dans la plage ; la détection d'un événement tactile sur l'écran tactile, y compris un mouvement utilisateur ; en réponse à l'événement tactile, le déplacement de l'indicateur pour modifier la valeur s'inscrivant dans la plage à une première vitesse constante lorsque la vitesse du mouvement utilisateur est supérieure à un seuil, et le déplacement de l'indicateur pour modifier la valeur s'inscrivant dans la plage à une seconde vitesse constante inférieure lorsque la vitesse du mouvement utilisateur est inférieure au seuil. D'autres variantes du procédé, un dispositif et un support d'informations lisible par ordinateur sont également décrits.
