Glasses are disclosed having a composition comprising the following oxides (in weight %): SiO2 61 to 70%, A12O3 2 to 15%, Na2O 10 to 13%, K2O 0 to 1%, MgO 2 to 6%, CaO 6 to 16%, SrO 0 to 1%, ZrO2 0 to 15%, TiO2 0 to 1%. The glasses may have a strain point greater than 570 °C, and good dimensional stability at high temperatures, making them suitable for fire protection glazings and substrates which are processed at elevated temperatures, e.g. substrates for display panels, information storage discs and semiconductor devices, including photovoltaic cells. Physical properties of the glasses, such as thermal expansion coefficient, density and refractive index, are disclosed, as are the melting and liquidus temperatures. The glasses are suitable for manufacture by the float process, yielding flat glass in the form of sheets.

La présente invention concerne des verres ayant une composition comprenant les oxydes suivants (en % en poids) : SiO2 de 61 à 70%, A12O3 de 2 à 15%, Na2O ded 10 à 13%, K2O de 0 à 1%, MgO de 2 à 6%, CaO de 6 à 16%, SrO de 0 à 1%, ZrO2 de 0 à 15%, TiO2 de 0 à 1%. Les verres peuvent avoir un point de contrainte supérieur à 570°C, et une bonne stabilité dimensionnelle à des températures élevées, ce qui les rend appropriés pour des vitrages de protection contre le feu et des substrats qui sont traités à des températures élevées, par exemple des substrats pour des panneaux d'affichage, des disques de stockage d'informations et des dispositifs à semi-conducteurs, y compris des cellules photovoltaïques. Les propriétés physiques des verres, tels que le coefficient de dilatation thermique, la densité et l'indice de réfraction, sont décrits, comme le sont les températures liquidus et de fusion. Les verres sont appropriés pour la fabrication par procédé float de verre plat sous la forme de feuilles.
