Abstract

Variations of ZPGM catalyst material compositions including cerium-cobalt spinel oxide systems for ZPGM DOC applications are disclosed. The disclosed ZPGM catalyst compositions include CexCo3-x04 spinel and effect of adding copper to Ce-Co as CuxCei- XC02O4 spinel systems supported on doped zirconia support oxide, which are produced by the incipient wetness (IW) methodology. ZPGM catalyst compositions are subjected to BET-surface area and XRD analyses to determine the thermal stability and spinel phase formation of supported spinal systems, respectively. DOC performance of ZPGM catalyst compositions is determined under steady state DOC light off test condition to verify/compare oxidation activity of disclosed spinel compositions, desirable and suitable for ZPGM catalyst materials in DOC applications.

Cette invention concerne des variantes de compositions de matériau catalyseur ZPGM contenant des systèmes d'oxydes à phase spinelle de type cérium-cobalt pour des applications DOC ZPGM . Les compositions de catalyseur ZPGM décrites contiennent un spinelle CexCo3-x04 et l'effet d'ajout de cuivre au Ce-CO permet d'obtenir des systèmes à phase spinelle CuxCei-XC02O4 supportés sur un oxyde de support de type oxyde de zirconium dopé, qui sont produits par la technique de l'imprégnation à humidité naissante (IW). Les compositions de catalyseur ZPGM sont soumises à des analyses d'aire spécifique par la méthode BET et à des analyses XRD pour déterminer la stabilité thermique et la formation de la phase spinelle des systèmes spinaux supportés, respectivement. La performance DOC des compositions de catalyseur ZPGM est déterminée dans une condition d'essai du DOC à l'état stable sous lumière éteinte pour vérifier/comparer l'activité d'oxydation des compositions de spinelle décrites, recherchées et convenant aux matériaux catalyseurs ZPGM dans des applications DOC.
