There is provided a thermostat system comprising a HVAC interface module for controlling an external HVAC system; at least one of a wide-area communication module for data communication with an external network and a local communication module for data communication over a home automation network; and a processor configured for: receiving selection of an in-use schedule dataset; receiving environmental control rules; and controlling the HVAC interface module based on the in-use schedule dataset and the environmental control rules. Methods for controlling a HVAC system are also provided.

L'invention concerne un système de thermostat comprenant : un module d'interface de chauffage, ventilation et climatisation (HVAC) conçu pour commander un système HVAC externe ; un module de communication étendue permettant une communication de données sur un réseau externe et/ou un module de communication locale permettant une communication de données sur un réseau domotique ; et un processeur conçu pour recevoir une sélection d'un ensemble de données de programmation en cours d'utilisation, pour recevoir des règles de commande de l'environnement et pour commander le module d'interface HVAC sur la base de l'ensemble de données de programmation en cours d'utilisation et des règles de commande de l'environnement. L'invention concerne également des procédés de commande d'un système HVAC.
