The present invention addresses the problem of providing a liquid crystal element that sufficiently optimizes mainly the electro-optical properties of a VA display, has a wide operating temperature range, a high-speed responsiveness at a low temperature, a halftone response speed, a high contrast, a wide viewing angle, a low threshold voltage and a high resistance value, and, after polymerizing a polymerizable liquid crystal compound, contains little residual monomer and shows a high voltage retention rate. As the results of intensive studies to solve the aforesaid problem, the present inventors found the most appropriate configuration of a liquid crystal element and thus completed the present invention.

La présente invention aborde le problème consistant à fournir un élément à cristaux liquides qui permet de suffisamment optimiser principalement les propriétés électro-optiques d'un dispositif d'affichage à alignement vertical (VA), présente une large plage de températures de fonctionnement, une réactivité à vitesse élevée et à basse température, une vitesse de réponse en demi-teinte, un contraste élevé, un grand angle de vue, une faible tension de seuil et une valeur de résistance élevée, et, après la polymérisation d'un composé cristal liquide polymérisable, contient peu de monomère résiduel et présente un taux élevé de rétention de tension. Comme les résultats des études approfondies des présents inventeurs permettent de résoudre le problème précité, ceux-ci ont découvert la configuration la plus appropriée d'un élément à cristaux liquides et, par conséquent, ont mis en œuvre la présente invention.

 本発明の課題は、主にVAディスプレイの電気光学特性の十分な最適化をおこない、広い動作温度範囲、低温での高速応答性、中間調応答速度、高コントラスト、広い視野角、低い閾値電圧と高い抵抗値を有し、重合可能な液晶性化合物を重合させた後も残存モノマーが少なく高い電圧保持率を示す、液晶素子を供給することである。 本願発明者らは、上記課題を解決するために鋭意検討した結果、最適な液晶素子の構成を見出し本願発明の完成に至った。
