Method for making nanopores in thin layers or monolayers of transition metal dichalcogenides comprising the steps of provinding a suspended transistion metal dichalcogenide layer (1) in an electrolyte (2), applying a transmembrane voltage (V) high enough to lead to the breakdown of the layer (1), monitoring the ionic current (Ii) and reducing the transmembrane voltage (V) when the ionic current (Ii) has reached a predefined cut-off value (Ip).

L'invention concerne un procédé de production de nanopores dans des couches minces ou des monocouches de dichalcogénures de métaux de transition, comprenant les étapes consistant à fournir une couche de dichalcogénure de métal de transition en suspension (1) dans un électrolyte (2), appliquer une tension transmembranaire (V) suffisamment élevée pour conduire à la décomposition de la couche (1), surveiller le courant ionique (Ii) et réduire la tension transmembranaire (V) lorsque le courant ionique (Ii) atteint une valeur de coupure (Ip) prédéfinie.
