There is disclosed an elongate structural element (10). The element (10) includes an inner plate (12) having first and second opposing planar surfaces (14, 16). The element (10) further includes first and second outer sections (18, 18'). Each of the outer sections (18, 18') comprises a central wall (20) having a pair of longitudinal grooves (32, 34). Each of the outer sections (18, 18') further comprises a pair of side walls (22, 24) extending from the central wall (20) to define a generally U-shaped channel (30). The longitudinal grooves (32, 34) depress into the U-shaped channel (30). Each of the outer sections (18, 18') further comprises a pair of flanges (26, 28) respectively extending outwardly from the pair of side walls (22, 24). The flanges (26, 28) of the first outer section (18) are attached to the first planar surface (14) of the plate (12) and the flanges (26, 28) of the second outer section (18') are attached to the second planar surface (16) of the plate (12) such that the U-shaped channels (30) are substantially closed by the inner plate (12) and opposed to each other.

Cette invention concerne un élément structural allongé (10). Ledit élément (10) comprend une plaque interne (12) présentant des première et seconde surfaces planes opposées (14, 16). Ledit élément (10) comprend en outre des première et seconde partie externes (18, 18'). Chacune des parties externes (18, 18') comprend une paroi centrale (20) présentant une paire de rainures longitudinales (32, 34). Chacune des parties externes (18, 18') comprend en outre une paire de parois latérales (22, 24) s'étendant à partir de la paroi centrale (20) de sorte à définir un canal généralement en forme de U (30). Lesdites rainures longitudinales (32, 34) s'enfoncent dans le canal en forme de U (30). Chacune des parties externes (18, 18') comprend en outre une paire de rebords (26, 28) s'étendant respectivement vers l'extérieur à partir de la paire de parois latérales (22, 24). Lesdits rebords (26, 28) de la première partie externe (18) sont fixés à la première surface plane (14) de la plaque (12) et les rebords (26, 28) de la seconde partie externe (18') sont fixés à la seconde surface plane (16) de la plaque (12) de telle sorte que les canaux en forme de U (30) sont sensiblement fermés par la plaque interne (12) et opposés l'un à l'autre.
