According to an embodiment of the disclosure, a method of moving an item in a torus-like infinity pattern. The method includes moving the item poloidally along a path with reference to a torus grid at least partially moving the item toroidally along the path with reference to the torus grid such that when the item substantially moves around a revolution around the torus grid when viewed from a cross section cut across the poloidal direction of movement, the item also moves poloidally.

Selon un mode de réalisation, l'invention concerne un procédé de déplacement d'un article dans un motif infini du type tore. Le procédé consiste à déplacer l'article d'une manière poloïdale le long d'un trajet par rapport à une grille torique, et à déplacer au moins partiellement l'article d'une manière toroïdale le long du trajet par rapport à la grille torique de manière que lorsque l'article décrit sensiblement une révolution autour de la grille torique, vue dans une section prise à travers la direction poloïdale de mouvement, l'article se déplace également d'une manière poloïdale.
