[Problem] To provide a photosensitizer which exhibits high solubility in a solvent such as a hydrous alcohol, while having excellent conversion efficiency and durability. [Solution] A photosensitizer which is a salt of a dye represented by general formula (I). (In formula (I), n represents an integer of 1 or 2; R1, R2 and R3 may be the same as or different from each other, and each represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 2-8 carbon atoms or an aralkyl group, with one among the R1, R2 and R3 moieties being a hydrogen atom at a maximum; the R1, R2 and R3 moieties may combine together to form a cyclic structure; and Dye represents an organic dye containing no rare transition metal.)

[Problème] Fournir un photosensibilisateur qui présente une solubilité élevée dans un solvant tel qu'un alcool hydraté, tout en ayant une efficacité de conversion et une durabilité excellentes. [Solution] Un photosensibilisateur qui est un sel d'un colorant représenté par la formule générale (I). 【課題】含水アルコール等の溶剤に対して高い溶解度を有し、変換効率と耐久性が優れた光増感剤を提供する。 【解決手段】下記一般式(I)で示される色素の塩である光増感剤。 (式(I)において、nは1または2の整数を示す。R1、R2、R3は同じでも異なっていてもよく、それぞれ、水素原子、炭素数2から8のアルキル基、アラルキル基を示し、R1、R2、R3のうち水素原子は多くとも1個である。R1からR3は互いに結合して環状構造を形成してもよい。Dyeは希少遷移金属を含まない有機色素である。)
