An image processing system (IPS) and related method for image reconstruction operations, in particular for spectral computed tomography imaging. The image reconstruction operation is based on optimizing a regularized objective or cost function. The objective function includes a regularization term (R) that incorporates, as a- priori knowledge, a known amount of a material resident within a field of view to be reconstructed.

La présente invention concerne un système de traitement d'image (IPS) et une méthode associée destinés à des fonctions de reconstruction d'image, en particulier pour l'imagerie par tomodensitométrie spectrale. La fonction de reconstruction d'image est basée sur l'optimisation d'une fonction d'objectif ou de coût régularisée. La fonction d'objectif comprend un terme de régularisation (R) qui incorpore, en tant que connaissance a priori, une quantité connue d'un matériau résidant dans un champ visuel à reconstruire.
