It is disclosed a method for monitoring the movement of a part of human body, e.g. a limb. The movement comprises N iterated rotations in a plane. A sensing device is fixed to the limb and provides data indicative of the limb movement. These data are processed to generate a rotation signal. Then, portions of the rotation signal corresponding to each movement iteration are identified. To this purpose, a plurality of null-velocity instants is identified, wherein the angular velocity of the sensing device is null. Then, each null-velocity instant is classified as a candidate start/end time or a candidate peak time. Then, a start time, end time and peak time for each iteration are determined as a combination of two candidate start/end times and a candidate peak time that fulfils certain conditions on the values of the rotation signal in correspondence of candidate start/end times and candidate peak times.

L'invention concerne un procédé de surveillance du mouvement d'une partie du corps humain, par exemple, un membre. Le mouvement comprend N rotations répétées dans un plan. Un dispositif de détection est fixé au membre et fournit des données indiquant le mouvement du membre. Ces données sont traitées pour produire un signal de rotation. Ensuite, des portions du signal de rotation correspondant à chaque répétition de mouvement sont identifiées. Dans ce but, une pluralité d'instants à vitesse nulle est identifiée, la vitesse angulaire du dispositif de détection étant nulle. Ensuite, chaque instant à vitesse nulle est classé sous forme d'un temps de début/fin candidat ou d'un temps de crête candidat. Ensuite, un temps de début, un temps de fin et un temps de crête pour chaque répétition sont déterminés sous la forme d'une combinaison de deux temps de début/fin candidats et d'un temps de crête candidat qui remplissent certaines conditions sur les valeurs du signal de rotation en correspondance avec des temps de début/fin candidats et temps de crête candidats.
