(EN)The invention relates to a method for glycolysis of PET to BHET in the presence of ethylene glycol and a heterogeneous catalyst comprising at least 50% by mass of a solid solution consisting of at least one spinel of formula ZxAl2O(3+x) in which x has a value between 0 and 1, 0 being excluded, Z being selected from Co, Fe, Mg, Mn, Ti and Zn, operated at a pressure between 0.1 and 6 MPa, at a temperature between 100 °C and 300 °C, the mass ratio EG/PET having a value between 1 and 50, and the mass ratio catalyst/PET having a value between 0.01 and 5.
