(EN)BCC metal hydride alloys historically have limited electrochemical capabilities. Provided are a new examples of these alloys useful as electrode active materials. BCC metal hydride alloys provided include a pressure plateau in the desorption PCT isotherm measured at 30°C with center between 0.1 MPa and 1.0 MPa, and/or a plateau region between 0.05 weight percent to 0.5 weight percent of H2. This pressure plateau represents a new catalytic phase capable of producing increased capacity in the absence of additional catalytic phases.
(FR)Les alliages d’hydrure métallique cubique à corps centré (CCC) ont historiquement des capacités électrochimiques limitées. L’invention porte sur de nouveaux exemples de ces alliages utiles comme matières actives d’électrode. Les alliages d’hydrure métallique CCC selon l’invention comprennent un plateau de pression dans l’isotherme PCT de désorption mesuré à 30 °C présentant un centre compris entre 0,1 MPa et 1,0 MPa et/ou une zone de plateau entre 0,05 pour cent en poids et 0,5 pour cent en poids de H2. Ce plateau de pression représente une nouvelle phase catalytique pouvant produire une capacité accrue en l’absence de phases catalytiques supplémentaires.
