CLAIMS:

1 . An apparatus for securing a segmented cable with a plurality of connectors, for shipping and storage, the apparatus comprising:

two or more fixtures, each comprising a plurality of locking receptacles along a body of each fixture,

wherein each of the plurality of locking receptacles comprises a locking mechanism to secure a connector of a plurality of connectors on a power cable.

2. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein each of the plurality of locking receptacles comprises:

two or more locking tabs that flex open to snap a connector in place; and two or more protruding features preventing rotational movement of the connected snapped into place.

3. The apparatus of claim 2, wherein two fixtures of the two or more fixtures secure one layer of the power cable on opposing sides.

4. The apparatus of claim 3, wherein each of the plurality of connectors on the power cable is connected to an opposing fixture of the two fixtures.

5. The apparatus of claim 4, wherein further layers of the power cable are each secured by two more fixtures per layer, stacked upon a previous layer.

6. The apparatus of claim 5, wherein the further layers are stacked at an offset from the previous layer.

7. The apparatus of claim 2, wherein each of the plurality of locking receptacles further comprise a rib on an outward facing side of each of the two or more locking tabs and wherein each of the plurality of connectors on the power cable is

connected to an opposing fixture of the two fixtures and further layers of the power cable are each secured by two more fixtures per layer, stacked upon the previous layer.

8. The apparatus of claim 7, wherein the further layers are stacked at an offset from the previous layer, the rib on each locking receptacle fitting between two ribs on the previous layer, preventing sliding in at least one direction.

9. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein each of the two or more fixtures comprise a separation point after each locking receptacle where a portion of the fixture can be detached according to a specified number of cable connectors or cable length.

10. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the apparatus is assembled during manufacture of the segmented cable.

1 1 . A method for securing a segmented cable for shipping and storage, the method comprising:

securing adjacent connectors of a plurality of connectors on a cable segment, alternately, to two opposing fixtures of a plurality of fixtures, the two opposing fixtures forming a first fixture layer; and

stacking further fixture layers onto the first fixture layer to form a fixture array.

12. The method of claim 1 1 , further comprising:

preventing rotational movement of each connector secured in a locking receptacle by inserting two or more features protruding from an inside of the locking receptacle into two or more openings in the each connector.

13. The method of claim 1 1 , further comprising:

attaching two connectors of the plurality of connectors to opposing portions of a power cable segment during manufacture of the power cable segment, prior to securing the adjacent connectors to fixtures.

14. The method of claim 13, further comprising:

securing the two connectors to opposing fixtures after individually attaching the two connectors to the power cable segment.

15. The method of claim 14, further comprising:

layering the further fixture layers at an offset from a layer of fixtures directly below; and

interlocking a feature on each side of the plurality of locking receptacles with a gap between features on each side of adjacent receptacles in the layer of fixtures directly below.
