Title: SYSTEM FOR LANDING AIRCRAFT UNDER VARIOUS CONDITIONS OF METEOROLOGICAL VISIBILITY
Abstract:
The proposed landing system is intended to provide high reliability and accuracy in the final stage of flight under various conditions of meteorological visibility, including zero visibility, in both manual and automatic flight control modes. High accuracy is achieved through the use of the method and criteria of vector coincidence on a plane and in space, which, when applied to aviation, provides for the close coincidence of ground speed and full speed vectors with their predicted values with minimal, sub-meter residual deviations. The timely presentation of summary video information comprising the centerline and edges of a runway and also a silhouette of a moving aircraft on an on-board display, provides for the clearest possible representation of actual circumstances and also reduces the potential for accidents resulting from human error. The distinguishing feature of the invention is that the technical solutions and means for the implementation thereof are based merely on the use of the current coordinates of an aircraft and also the dimensions and coordinates of the runway of the airport of destination.
