Title: PARTICULATE MATTER DETECTION SENSOR
Abstract:
A particulate matter detection sensor is provided with: a deposition portion on which part of particulate matter included in exhaust gas discharged from an internal combustion engine is deposited; and a pair of detection electrodes composed of a first electrode disposed in the deposition portion, and a second electrode disposed apart from the first electrode. In the first electrode, protrusions protruding toward the second electrode are formed, and the distance between the first electrode and the second electrode is locally shortened by the protrusions. Consequently, a larger amount of particulate matter can be attracted and deposited, whereby detection sensitivity can be improved.
