Abstract:
(EN) A wearable device for an operator to wear upon the wrist, for automatically detecting the onset of degraded performance in the operator; and methods for using such a device. The device utilizes technologies such as surface Electromyography to non-invasively determine the gripping strength of the operator on an operating handle, such as a steering wheel. False positives are eliminated by performing a psychomotor vigilance test (PVT) to confirm a detected onset of degraded performance or to filter out a spurious or anomalous detection of the onset of degraded performance. In other embodiments, a degraded performance notification is sent to a remote server along with the operator's current location to provide a remedial location-based response to relieve the onset of degraded performance. In still other embodiments, a dedicated GPS navigation device provides location-based information to relieve the onset of degraded performance.
(FR) L'invention concerne un dispositif portable qu'un opérateur porte au niveau du poignet, permettant de détecter automatiquement l'apparition d'une performance dégradée de l'opérateur ; et des procédés d'utilisation d'un tel dispositif. Le dispositif fait appel à des technologies telles qu'une électromyographie de surface pour déterminer de manière non invasive la force de préhension de l'opérateur par rapport à une poignée de commande, telle qu'un volant de direction. Des faux positifs sont éliminés par exécution d'un test de vigilance psychomoteur (PVT) servant à confirmer l'apparition détectée d'une performance dégradée ou à filtrer une détection injustifiée ou anormale de l'apparition de performance dégradée. Selon d'autres modes de réalisation, une notification de performance dégradée est envoyée à un serveur distant conjointement avec la position courante de l'opérateur pour établir une réponse corrective basée sur une position de façon à remédier à l'apparition de performance dégradée. Selon encore d'autres modes de réalisation, un dispositif de navigation GPS dédié fournit des informations basées sur une position pour remédier à l'apparition de performance dégradée.
