(EN) The invention relates to a method for displaying the position and orientation of a linear instrument (1) navigated with respect to a 3D medical image (V), wherein: - said linear instrument (1) is coupled to a guide (2); - the guide (2) is tracked by a navigation system with respect to the 3D image (V); - a plane (4) containing the axis of the linear instrument (1) is virtually attached to the guide (2); - a slice reformatted in the 3D image and containing said plane (4) is displayed. Another object of the invention is a system for carrying out said method.
(FR) L'invention concerne un procédé d'affichage de la position et de l'orientation d'un instrument linéaire (1) dirigé relativement à une image médicale en 3D (V), dans lequel : - ledit instrument linéaire (1) est couplé à un guide (2); - le guide (2) est suivi par un système de navigation relativement à l'image en 3D (V); - un plan (4) contenant l'axe de l'instrument linéaire (1) est en pratique fixé sur le guide (2); - une coupe reformatée de l'image en 3D et contenant ledit plan (4) est affichée. Un autre objectif de l'invention concerne un système pour mettre en œuvre le procédé.
