Abstract:
The invention relates to a coke oven which comprises an upper oven and a lower oven arranged below the upper oven. The raw gas produced in a coking chamber of the upper oven during the coking process is partially combusted in the upper oven and is then discharged into the lower oven via multiple downcomer channels oriented downwards. In the lower oven, the raw gas flows through an outer bottom channel, is deflected in a transition region, then flows through an inner bottom channel, and finally exits the lower oven via an exhaust gas collection channel. The outer and inner bottom channels are supplied with secondary air such that the gas initially only partially combusted in the upper oven by means of a primary combustion is completely combusted in the lower oven by means of a secondary combustion. According to the invention, the transition region in which the gas is deflected in the lower oven is divided into multiple flow channels.
