Title: MULTI-LAYER COUNTERFEIT-PROTECTED PRODUCT ON A POLYMER BASE
Abstract:
The invention relates to information carriers which are protected against counterfeit, and to methods for the counterfeit protection of printed products such as securities, bank notes and identity documents, whether having a paper or a polymer base. The invention describes a multi-layer counterfeit-protected product having: at least one substrate layer; applied on top of the substrate layer, a layer containing a graphic image in the form of a periodic raster; an intermediate transparent layer; and, provided on top of same, a layer with a raster; wherein, the relative positioning of the rasters forms a moiré pattern which changes when the document is viewed from different angles. Graphic variable information is introduced into one of the said layers, the moiré image being irreversibly distorted in the area where the variable information is applied, thus making impossible the introduction of subsequent changes or the replacement of variable information.
