Abstract:
(EN) In this substrate-type optical waveguide element (1), if the effective refractive indices of the TE polarization and the TM polarization in a first core (13) are NTE@WG1 and NTM@WG1, respectively, and the effective refractive indices of the TE polarization and the TM polarization in a second core (14) are NTE@WG2 and NTM@WG2, respectively: the relationship in magnitude between the effective refractive index NTM@WG1 and the effective refractive index NTM@WG2 is reversed between the starting point and the endpoint of a parallel-travelling section; and at least one of the cores (13 and 14) includes a main part (13m or 14m) having a quadrangular cross-sectional shape, and a projecting part (13p or 14p) that projects from one side surface of the main part in a direction parallel to the interface between a lower cladding and an upper cladding.
(FR) Dans l'élément de guide d'ondes optique de type substrat (1) faisant l'objet de l'invention, si les indices de réfraction efficaces de la polarisation TE et de la polarisation TM dans un premier noyau (13) sont respectivement NTE@WG1 et NTM@WG1, et si les indices de réfraction efficaces de la polarisation TE et de la polarisation TM dans un second noyau (14) sont respectivement NTE@WG2 et NTM@WG2 : le rapport de grandeur entre l'indice de réfraction efficace NTM@WG1 et l'indice de réfraction efficace NTM@WG2 est inversé entre le point de départ et le point d'arrivée d'une section à déplacement parallèle ; et au moins un des noyaux (13 et 14) comprend une partie principale (13m ou 14m) qui a une forme en coupe transversale quadrangulaire, ainsi qu'une partie saillante (13p ou 14p) qui dépasse d'une surface latérale de la partie principale dans une direction parallèle à la jonction entre un revêtement inférieur et un revêtement supérieur.
