Abstract:
(EN) A wireless access point device capable of detecting out-of-band interference to the operation of the Wi-Fi network caused by LTE small cell devices such as macrocells and femtocells. A flow processor monitors the characteristics of data flows of devices connected to the wireless access point to determine whether they are LTE cells based on MAC address matching or the termination of a flow at a known mobile network operator gateway. A mitigation action to change the operational behaviour of the wireless access point is then generated and applied to mitigate the effect of the detected interference device on the Wi-Fi network.
(FR) Un dispositif de point d'accès sans fil est apte à détecter la perturbation hors bande du fonctionnement du réseau Wi-Fi provoquée par des dispositifs à petites cellules LTE, des macrocellules et des femtocellules par exemple. Un processeur de flux surveille les caractéristiques de flux de données de dispositifs connectés au point d'accès sans fil afin de déterminer s'ils sont des cellules LTE, d'après une mise en correspondance d'adresses MAC ou la terminaison d'un flux à une passerelle d'opérateur de réseau mobile connu. Une action d'atténuation visant à modifier le comportement opérationnel du point d'accès sans fil est ensuite générée et appliquée afin d'atténuer l'effet du dispositif brouilleur détecté sur le réseau Wi-Fi.
