Abstract:
(EN) An apparatus and method is provided for deflating an air-pressurized tire used on heavy machinery or mining equipment. The apparatus can include a venturi tube having a feed tube with one end terminated in the constricted throat of the venturi tube and the other end operatively connected to an exit port of a valve extraction tool connected to a valve stem disposed on the tire's rim. A stream of air can be passed through the throat of the venturi tube to create a region of pressure lower than atmospheric pressure. When the extraction tool removes the valve core of the valve stem, pressurized air in the tire can flow to the low-pressure region in the venturi tube thereby resulting in decreased time to deflate the tire.
(FR) L'invention concerne un appareil et un procédé pour dégonfler un pneu à pression d'air utilisé sur des engins lourds ou de l'équipement minier. L'appareil peut comprendre un tube de venturi comportant un tube d'alimentation ayant une extrémité qui se termine dans la gorge à étranglement du tube de venturi et l'autre extrémité reliée fonctionnellement à l'orifice de sortie d'un outil d'extraction de valve relié à un corps de valve disposé sur la jante du pneu. On peut faire passer un courant d'air à travers la gorge du tube de venturi pour créer une zone de pression inférieure à la pression atmosphérique. Quand l'outil d'extraction retire l'obus de valve du corps de valve, l'air sous pression dans le pneu peut s'écouler vers la zone basse pression dans le tube de venturi avec de ce fait pour conséquence une diminution du temps nécessaire pour dégonfler le pneu.
