A method for predicting a future road grade at a future location of a vehicle based on the previously encountered road grades includes receiving one or more grade limitations; determining a road grade for a current location of a vehicle; maintaining a history log of the determined road grades; and predicting a future road grade at a future location of the vehicle based on the one or more grade limitations and the history log of determined road grades.

L'invention concerne un procédé pour prévoir une future pente de route au niveau d'un futur emplacement d'un véhicule sur la base des pentes de route précédemment rencontrées, qui comprend la réception d'une ou plusieurs limitations de pente; la détermination d'une pente de route pour un emplacement actuel d'un véhicule; la gestion d'un fichier historique des pentes de route déterminées; et la prédiction d'une future pente de route au niveau d'un emplacement futur du véhicule en se basant sur l'une ou plusieurs limitations de pente et le fichier historique des pentes de route déterminées.
