Abstract
(EN) Methods and apparatus are described for detecting myocardial iron content using black-blood magnetic resonance imaging data. In one arrangement a method comprises fitting contours to the epicardial and endocardial margins of the left ventricle in the imaging data;creating a binary map by segmenting voxels of the imaging data according to whether the voxel values are above or below a threshold, the threshold being chosen so as to distinguish between blood and ventricular tissue;using the created binary map and the fitted contours to identify the portion of the tissue between the fitted contours corresponding to the interventricular septum; and detecting myocardial iron content by performing T2* measurements on a portion of the imaging data corresponding to the identified interventricular septum.
(FR) L'invention concerne des procédés et des appareils pour détecter une teneur en fer du myocarde en utilisant des données d'imagerie par résonance magnétique de sang noir. Dans un mode de réalisation, un procédé comprend définir des contours des bords épicardiques et endocardiques du ventricule gauche dans les données d'imagerie ; créer une carte binaire en segmentant des voxels des données d'imagerie selon que les valeurs de voxels sont supérieures ou inférieures à un seuil, le seuil étant choisi de façon à distinguer le sang et les tissus ventriculaires ; utiliser la carte binaires créée et les contours définis pour identifier la partie du tissu entre les contours définis correspondant à la cloison interventriculaire ; et détecter la teneur en fer du myocarde en effectuant des mesures T2* sur une partie des données d'imagerie correspondant à la cloison interventriculaire identifiée.
