(EN)This method includes: disposing, in the exhaust gas passage (2) of an engine, an NOx trap (3) that includes an NOx adsorption/occlusion material which is capable of adsorbing NOx when the temperature of the exhaust gas is 100-200°C and which is capable of occluding NOx when the temperature of the exhaust gas is 350-450°C; and disposing an NOx occlusion/reduction catalyst (4) downstream from the NOx trap in the flow direction of the exhaust gas, the catalyst (4) being capable of occluding NOx when the air/fuel ratio of the exhaust gas is lean and being capable of reducing NOx when the air/fuel ratio of the exhaust gas is rich.
(FR)Procédé comprend les étapes consistant à : disposer, dans le passage de gaz d'échappement (2) d'un moteur, un piège à NOx (3) qui comprend un matériau d'occlusion/d'adsorption de NOx qui peut adsorber le NOx quand la température du gaz d'échappement est de 100 à 200 °C et qui peut occlure le NOx quand la température du gaz d'échappement est de 350 à 450 °C ; et disposer un catalyseur d'occlusion/réduction de NOx en aval du piège à NOx dans la direction d'écoulement du gaz d'échappement, le catalyseur (4) pouvant occlure le NOx quand le rapport air/carburant du gaz d'échappement est pauvre et pouvant réduire le NOx quand le rapport air/carburant du gaz d'échappement est riche.
