Abstract:
(EN) A method and apparatus are disclosed for steering a UE (103) from a WLAN (105) to a cellular network (106) with an overlapping coverage area. The UE (103) is connected to the WLAN (105) through an access point (AP) (102). The AP (102) suppresses the broadcast of a network identifier of the WLAN (105) and de-authenticates the UE (103) from the WLAN (105). After de-authenticating the UE (103), the AP (102) ignores probe requests from the UE (103). The UE (103) will conclude that the WLAN (105) is no longer available and will connect to the cellular network. From the perspective of the UE (103), the suppression of the network makes it appear to the UE (103) that it has moved out of range of the AP (102) so the UE (103) will not "blacklist" the WLAN (105). The suppression of the network ID will not impact UEs not targeted, which will continue to communicate via WLAN (105) even when the network ID is suppressed.
(FR) L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil destinés à aiguiller un Équipement Utilisateur (UE) (103) d'un réseau local sans fil (WLAN) (105) vers un réseau cellulaire (106) présentant un recouvrement des zones de couverture. L'UE (103) est connecté au WLAN (105) par l'intermédiaire d'un point d'accès (AP) (102). L'AP (102) supprime la diffusion d'un identifiant de réseau du WLAN (105) et supprime l'authentification de l'UE (103) à partir du WLAN (105). Après la suppression de l'authentification de l'UE (103), l'AP (102) ignore les trames Probe Request provenant de l'UE (103). L'UE (103) en conclut alors que le WLAN (105) n'est plus disponible et se connecte au réseau cellulaire. Du point de vue de l'UE (103), la suppression du réseau fait croire à l'UE (103) qu'il s'est déplacé hors de portée de l'AP (102) de sorte que l'UE (103) ne met pas le WLAN (105) en "liste noire". La suppression de l'ID de réseau n'a pas d'effet sur des UE non ciblés, qui peuvent continuer à communiquer par l'intermédiaire du WLAN (105) même lorsque l'ID de réseau est supprimé.
