Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for the heat treatment of a steel reinforcement element (F) for tyres, said method comprising a step of decreasing the temperature of the reinforcement element by continuous cooling : from an initial temperature of the austenitic range, to an end temperature of the ferrito-pearlitic range, via at least one range of transformation of the steel, the at least one transformation range being different from the bainitic range. The temperature-decreasing step comprises a transformation (C2, C3) of the austenitic microstructure into the ferrito-pearlitic microstructure. The temperature of the reinforcement element strictly decreases during the decreasing step. The average speed of the decrease in temperature during the transformation (C2, C3) of the microstructure of the steel is higher than, or equal to, 30°C.s-1, and is lower than, or equal to, 110°C.s-1.
