Abstract:
(EN) A system, method and apparatus for using a tool in a borehole is disclosed. The tool is disposed in the borehole. The tool includes a member rotatable substantially independently of the tool. The member is slidably coupled to a wall of the borehole. The tool is conveyed through the borehole to produce a rotation of the member as a result of the slidable coupling between the member and the wall of the borehole. A parameter of axial motion is determined from an angle of rotation of the member.
(FR) L'invention concerne un système, un procédé et un appareil permettant d'utiliser un outil dans un trou de forage. L'outil est disposé dans le trou de forage. L'outil comprend un élément qui peut tourner de façon sensiblement indépendante par rapport à l'outil. L'élément est couplé de manière coulissante à une paroi du trou de forage. L'outil est transporté à travers le trou de forage afin de produire une rotation de l'élément à la suite du couplage coulissant entre l'élément et la paroi du trou de forage.
